Ayden is 10 Months!

Yesterday, I was nursing Ayden and enjoying the quiet moment. I then walked out to the other room and as Dave was making faces at Ayden, I said, "I just realized he is going to be ten months tomorrow." What!?!?
Such a ham. He probably smiles for the camera better than the other two
First of all, so good to know I am keeping up with things. Second, I think I wrote his 9 month post late, so that makes it seem sooner. Third, time flies when you are having fun and we are somehow already to ten months!

I just wrote about him not long ago, so here's a few brief things and a lot of pictures of our little guy...

He had his 9-month well check (oops, kind of late) and he is 22.6 lbs and 29.5 inches long. He continues to be in the 75-90th percentiles for growth. He charmed our nurse and pediatrician the whole time:) He was happy and cooperative the whole time. Ryan (our doc) was holding Ayden (so I could deal with my other two monkeys in the small exam room) and he said at 9 months, he often can't hold the babies anymore but Ay was all too happy to sit with him:) Granted he is a good friend of ours, but still. Good baby!
A little bit of attitude
If he is playing and then he looks up at you, he usually gives you this big cheeser:)
He is starting to make more sounds, he started clicking his tongue the other day. He can say all sorts of Ma, Ba, Da, Ga sounds. He blows/buzzes his lips. That way that you get soaked if you are holding him? Yeah. He can go forever doing it. I remember a video of Quinn doing this and it cracks me up every time! I think he finds it hilarious:)
Loving the swing at Wildcat Mountain State Park
He is still wearing 18-24 month clothes and I found a tub of Collin's winter stuff and so he has a ton of clothes from his brother! If he grows much this winter, he may outgrow the size/season from Collin, but we are certainly enjoying the fact that the boys were born at almost the exact same time of year!

He is COMPLETELY distracted when he is nursing. I love sitting down with the other kids playing and nursing my babe, but he is just too interested in the others and the noise to focus. So, I often go into our room (still has a rocker) or upstairs to keep it quieter. I sometimes don't like to have to remove myself completely but other times it is a nice, sweet little break:)

He has stood totally alone twice (that I've seen)! Starting to let go and see what happens:) He is so fast when he crawls. If I go to the kitchen and open the fridge, by the time I turn around, he has crawled over and has climbed up my leg and is standing there hanging on with one hand. Kind of a dangerous situation. Dave and I have to move quickly:)
Coming to get Mommy

He did have another tooth cut through, it is the one next to the front one, on his left. Pretty drooly still! It's weird. It's not every day. But he has super drooly days. And days he doesn't drool at all. He still loves to eat. He gets some puffs, a teething biscuit or two and lots of baby food during the day. We still need to start trying more finger foods, ahh!

Ayden likes to be toted around in my Ergo carrier. He loves the vacuum - chases it all around when I clean. He has adjusted alright to the Ninja:) He loves to be tickled (and is often:) and has the biggest smile! He still loves to get into mischief (practically had a bath in Abby's water dish the other day) and still totally adores his siblings.
Playing outside with brother!

We have been crying it out again. It helps. It does. And this week, I've had five/six hours of straight sleep. Incredible. And that is short mostly because Dave and I go to bed so late! I am trying to become more aware of how often and when I am nursing him in efforts to separate the two endeavors and to start getting a plan in mind to wean him at 12 months!

He fell asleep in my arms after nursing one evening.
It doesn't happen too often, I loved it!
He loves being outside, travels pretty well in the car (there are some exceptions of course). He has started putting both arms up like a touchdown:) He also raises one hand and sometimes will wave (open and close hand) but not much yet. He also still doesn't clap, but did so during the music at a recent church service. That was the only time. I guess the spirit moved him:)

He is regularly sat on, pulled, pushed and shoved by Collin. It doesn't seem to phase him too much. And yesterday, I swear, I saw Ayden going in and being the more aggressive one during the after-supper train play time. It will be interesting going forward!

Okay, time to put this 10-month old down for a nap! Oh - he takes a morning nap between 9 and 10 a.m. and then an afternoon nap around 1-1:30 p.m. Ideally:) He is the first one to go bed and it might depend on how his naps went. But between 6:30-7 p.m. we are starting bath/bed for him. That part is going really well! He loves his baths (normally given by Daddy) and he goes down without fussing. Sing a song, turn on the sound machine and lay him down!

He is a pretty consistent early riser right now as well. He will wake for the day between 5:30-6:15 a.m. usually. Though I wish he would sleep longer, that time sort of works for me. I have to get Kate up by 6:30 and so I need to be up and moving at that hour anyway.

Love you so much, sweet baby boy!!
