Halloween, Tractors & Great Grandma

For Kate's birthday weekend, we went to Decorah/Burr Oak and had a short list of things to accomplish! We arrived Thursday night, so we had all day Friday to play:) We headed to town to check out the Luther Bookshop, Nordic Brew and Marty's:) I can never resist. We had cold-brew (our fave) and a couple treats and sat in Marty's to have a snack. Very different, of course, and there was hardly anyone there (was just fine, since I had to nurse Ayden:) The gals working at the coffee shop thought the kids were adorable and we got them a hot chocolate that they didn't need and barely touched. That night we had a little celebration at home for Kate's birthday. (see post HERE)

On Saturday, we went to see Great/Grandma at Wellington, the craft show at the high school and stopped at Impact Coffee to finally see that place! It was fun to visit Grandma, she was having a good day and of course, loved seeing the kiddos:) They were in and out of the room, but we had them in their costumes, so that was fun!

After bopping around Decorah, we headed over to meet Andrew in the field. He was done harvesting corn, so we met him at Harold's and the kids rode along in the skid steer (clearing trees and stuff) and then they jumped in a big green tractor and did some chisel-plowing. They had a blast. They were upset if they weren't riding along:) It was fun to stop out there for a bit. Ayden stayed in the van, it was cold that day!

Later that night, we kept the kids in the costumes and then went over to Geoff and Mary's to trick or treat:) It was fun to stop over there and visit for a minute. I wanted to the kids to do a little trick or treating (bought the costumes!), so we then went to Burr Oak and we stopped at three houses. Done! It was a little late and dark and windy and very Halloween-like!

On Sunday, we had a few more people over and enjoyed the much nicer weather! We hit the road around 4-5 p.m (time change!) and had a very nice ride back. Sleeping kids:) I am very thankful for better road trips lately, that is for sure. 

I may be forgetting a ton of things, but I waited too long to write it! It was definitely another fun and full weekend!
